About Us

Young’s Drug Store, locally owned and operated, was established in 1933 by Ed Young, the grandfather of our current owner, Forrest Young. Our first location was on First Avenue on downtown Wausau’s west side. Today, we remain locally owned and independently operated, with three full-service retail locations to serve you — in Wausau at Young’s Drug Store on Bridge Street and Grand Avenue, and at Merrill Pharmacy on Second Street in Merrill.

In addition, our company operates Young’s Long Term Care Pharmacy, supplying prescriptions and medical supplies to senior living, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in the region. From our pharmacy in Wausau’s west-side industrial park, our pharmacists and expert staff are relied upon as a comprehensive, responsive supplier.

The #1 goal of our retail stores and long term care pharmacy is to earn trust and build long-term relationships; providing prompt, personal service; serving as an advocate and as a source of direct assistance. This focus on providing positive experiences is reflected in the slogans we use (drug stores: “Feel Good About Your Pharmacy.™” and LTC: “Because You Want a Real Partner.™”). More than slogans, these are promises that we work to keep every day, in everything we do.
